Ivan Král, who was briefly a member of Blondie until he joined the Patti Smith Group as a bassist and guitarist in 1975, filmed the exciting young New York music scene with Amos Poe on black and white 16 mm in 1974/75. The documentary features performances by the Patti Smith Group, New York Dolls, Talking Heads, Ramones, Heartbreakers, Blondie and Television and others. In addition to the central clubs CBGB and Max's Kansas City, the film was also shot in the Chelsea Hotel and in the loft inhabited by Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. Blondie's demo tapes "Platinum Blonde" and the Shangri-Las' cover "Out in the Streets" can be heard. (hjf)
